Backing up GoldMine is not as straightforward as it may seem as the bulk of the data is independent of the GoldMine installation and held in the server database management application SQL Server and yet there are still configuration and system files which need backing up that are not stored within SQL Server. Even on older GoldMine versions which are based on dBase there can be issues of data stored in different locations and open files etc. Unless this is set up correctly you may ‘think’ you are backing up you GoldMine but in fact be missing much of what you need!
