Good Work Lab is an employee relations consulting practice specialising in restorative governance, diagnostic assessment, and ER transformation. We work with regulated and unionised organisations across the NHS, higher education, and public sector to reduce legal risk, embed fairness, and build psychologically safe workplaces.

Our Diagnostics

We begin with diagnostic clarity. Without baseline assessment, you cannot measure progress or drive meaningful change.

LeadER™ ER Maturity Diagnostic audits your current ER maturity, fairness architecture, compliance risk, and litigation exposure. The result is a tribunal-defensible assessment and actionable roadmap for transformation.

EquiSense™ Bias Detection identifies systemic bias and disproportionality in disciplinary outcomes using AI-driven analysis. It reveals intersectional fairness gaps and compliance exposure under the Equality Act.

InvestiSure™ Investigation Quality Audit assesses your investigation processes, documentation standards, and procedural fairness. It ensures your evidence is tribunal-ready and your processes are legally defensible.

UnionSense™ Industrial Relations Assessment measures union engagement maturity and partnership health. It identifies opportunities for collaborative governance and early resolution.

REWS™ Early Warning System predicts workplace conflict before escalation by integrating five data domains. It enables proactive intervention and prevents cases from becoming formal disputes.

Our Consulting Services

Retainer Consulting provides embedded ER advisory on a Bronze, Silver, or Gold tier basis. You get strategic guidance, case support, manager coaching, and early intervention—15 to 60 hours per month, with fixed scope and tiered SLA response times.

Project-Based Consulting tackles specific challenges: governance redesign, culture change, manager training, union frameworks, digital ER system implementation. Projects run 2–12 weeks depending on complexity.

Investigations covers disciplinary support, investigation design, fairness auditing, tribunal preparation, and legal defensibility review. We handle simple cases through to high-profile, sensitive matters.

Our Training & Accreditation

We offer tiered restorative just culture training: Foundation, Accredited, and Master levels. Practitioners gain accreditation in restorative ER practice, mediation, and conflict resolution. Programmes are customised by sector and role.

Our Digital Products

We provide ready-to-use templates, policies, decision trees, playbooks, and toolkits. Digital memberships, white-label solutions, and downloadable resources are available for organisations building capability in-house.
