After millions of dollars spent on the perfect Hollywood wedding and many hours on entertainment channel “E!”, leading up to their wedding, all is not rosy for newlyweds Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries. Kardashian filed for divorce from Humphries yesterday citing “irreconcilable differences”. The pair began dating in December 2010 and their relationship was cemented on “keeping up with the Kardashians”, with the season finale capturing Humphries’ romantic proposal to Kim. Their wedding was highly publicised with “E!” camera crews joining 500 of their closest friends on the 20th August 2011 to watch the reality star marry the New Jersey net player. News of the couples split comes just 72 days following their wedding. Kim Kardashian’s family have avoided commenting on news of the divorce, however, both Kourtney Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian have blogged about their support for their sister. It has been reported that Kim is not seeking an annulment and had hoped that the marriage would last forever but has stated that sometimes, things don’t work out as planned. She went on to state that the couple remain friends and wish each other the best. The couple reportedly have a pre-nuptial agreement and celebrity lawyer, Laura Wasser, has been lined up to represent Kim Kardashian. According to reports, the pair’s $10 million wedding cost approximately $138,888 a day, as of 31st October 2011. New reports have surfaced today that Kim Kardashian’s marriage to Kris Humphries was “arranged” and that she never really cared for him, meaning that their subsequent divorce was also part of the publicity scheme. Will we ever know the truth? I doubt it but the beginning of Kris and Kim’s marriage will be documented on the second season of “Kourtney and Kim take New York” which kicks off on 27th November.
