Summary
I am a Chartered Legal Executive (FCILEX). I have worked in immigration and asylum law since 2001. I am accredited as a Level 2 Senior Caseworker under the Law Society Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme in 2004. I am also accredited as a Supervisor.
I deal with a wide range of immigration cases and have an extensive experience in complex asylum and human rights cases, including those involving extradition in different jurisdictions, concerning cases of clients from Russia, Ukraine, other Eastern European countries.
I also deal with business immigration under the Points Based System, EEA applications, entry clearance applications, deportation appeals, bail applications, nationality applications. I have gained a solid experience in working on detention cases and claims for unlawful detention.
Recent work success and involvement
Securing permanent residency for a non-EEA family member following successful challenge of deportation proceedings.
Securing leave to remain for a family on the basis of a child’s right to a private life under the Immigration Rules and Article 8 of the ECHR.
Successfully applying for entry clearance following multiple refusals on the grounds of “intention to return”.
Involved with a Court of Appeal case which concerned revocation of indefinite leave to remain and deportation.
Successfully applying for British nationality for a client following previous refusal on the basis of exemption from the English language and Life in the UK test.
Acting for Russian entrepreneurs seeking political asylum in the UK on the basis of well founded fear of persecution following corporate raiding by the corrupt authorities in Russia.
Succeeding in JR application against removal and certification on private and family life. JR resulted in the Home Office reconsidering the application and client recovering his costs.
Acting in asylum claim for a client facing extradition to Ukraine and achieving successful outcome at the First Tier Tribunal
