“My mum wanted me to take part in the course as I was feeling nervous walking home from school and I had a couple of incidents happen which had made me worry.
I went along with two friends, and I really enjoyed it, we had a lesson to start with and watched some videos which made us think and discuss. We then went and took part in some work with the main instructor in the gym area, it was great fun being able to defend myself against my friends. The best bit though was when we went to the street scene and did some scenarios, it felt so real, and I was anticipating things to happen. When it had finished, we were able to talk about what happened and laugh at our reactions.
