Owner/Director of Aegis financial, which provides accounting, Interim Management and Management Consultancy services to a growing number of Small Businesses on Merseyside.
With a background of senior financial management roles within the retail and property sectors, and in recent years the Charity sector, I have a wealth of experience which I am now using to help!!
It is said that you cannot buy experience and my own, good and sometimes bad, has given me invaluable skills and expertise in my sphere of work. For example :-
• Many years financial management experience in large companies has taught me the importance of using what you know to interpret the trends and help you forecast ahead.
• As a finance manager tasked with aiding operational managers and then, more recently, conveying financial performance to Charity Trustees and often non-financial people, I have learned to bring figures/trends/performance “off the page” and, nowadays, I empower Small Business Owners to manage their businesses more confidently. I specialise in Sage 50 and train Clients how they can use the systems and so retain a hands-on involvement in their business transactions.
• The Small Business Owner occupies what is often a very lonely place. 7 years ago a combination of illness and business adversity put me in a position where I realised how little genuine help there was for me – or anybody else in a similar situation. Since then I have dedicated myself to helping people and their businesses and successfully helped businesses fight off adversity.
• I am dedicated to protecting my Clients from the ever-increasing threat of fiscal non-compliance. HMRC quite rightly now hit the pockets of non-compliant businesses with use of more stringent penalty regimes and many Small Business owners still fear the arrival of the “brown envelope” from HMRC.
