I was looking for a change of careers from being unhappy with a current role but unable to secure an interview following applications to roles I was interested in. That’s where Mel stepped in at Kinsella HR, to use the cliché and really mean it she was an absolute lifesaver. Her knowledge of the application and interview process in the civil service was exceptional and she very easily interpreted this for someone from outside of that world to understand.
Mel effectively became my career coach at this point, and I couldn’t thank her enough for the time she spent with me and the passion she showed.
Mel explained how applications were graded and reviewed my answers to job specific criteria to ensure I had shown myself in the best light, and delivered using the STAR system that is favoured in the Civil Service. Following her support I secured an interview for my very next application and Mel continued her exceptional support, explaining the next steps and helping me practise my interview answers using questions she felt would be asked. I’d never felt so confident going to an interview as I did with Mel’s help.
All the work we did on questions came up in my interview and needless to say Mel helped me absolutely SMASH my interview and I was offered my dream role the same day. Even after my offer Mel’s support continued through understanding the process that would now take place in my journey to starting my new role, and I could tell she was genuinely as pleased as I was that I had been successful.
Anyone considering career coaching, interview support or really any service Mel offers should use her services. Without her I’d still be stuck, but now I have a role I love and am thriving with my new team and Mel played a HUGE part in this for me.
Thank you Mel, for every call, email and text along this journey.
Mel is a truly a joy to work with and I’d highly recommend her to anyone seeking HR support or career coaching.
I had the pleasure of working with Mel on a conference for HR professionals and business owners in Cumbria on the topic of Mental Health at Work. She was highly organised, professional and helped lead a resoundingly successful event with over 120 delegates.
What really makes Mel stand out is how she radiates such positive energy and has razor-sharp professional instincts, honed by a huge amount of experience in HR.
