Summary

Hello...I am your Counsellor Fiona Brewin of Signature Therapy www.signaturetherapy.co.uk and I practice psychotherapy and counselling from the Hale Village Therapy Centre which is between Altrincham and Wilmslow in south Manchester. I am a Humanistic Relational Psychotherapist and Counsellor working with Adult Individuals and Couples. Counselling provides an experience for you which is rarely possible with friends or family. I will help you to explore bottled up feelings by listening attentively and patiently without judgement or advice, allowing you to express freely and openly. Often, the experience of being listened to and heard will give you clarity, understanding and peace. In this private and confidential setting you can gain self-respect and personal value through having your feelings acknowledged, and so being accepted and respected as a person in your own right. In many ways the process of psychotherapy is similar to that of counselling. Essential to each, is the developing relationship between us, in that as trust is built up, I will encourage you to look at aspects of yourself or your relationships with others, that you may not have thought of before or have even felt able to face before. I will help you to go deeper into your values and beliefs through the exploration of your early child relationships, to uncover how you react to certain people or situations in ways that worked well for you then but may now contribute to your difficulties as an adult. As insight and understanding are achieved, support and new strategies are opened up to you to help you find a small but crucial point where it would be possible to begin change.
I am in my mid 40's now and became interested in counselling and psychotherapy when I went through a difficult life experience. I found the therapy process not only to be comforting and supportive during this time, but unexpectedly gave me choices and insight about myself that led my friends to comment on the positive changes they saw in me and how I began to live my life. Therapy for me was insightful, affirming, challenging and often fun.

After we have had a short chat on the phone I agree an appointment time for us to meet in which you can talk more openly in a safe and comfortable place about what has brought you to therapy, why now and what you want to change in your life.
Don't worry if you are not too clear about this initially, talking about how you feel and think will often give you more clarity about what you want to achieve.
During this session, if you feel comfortable, we will agree to a further 4 sessions, or if you are not sure, maybe you would like to have a look at a few other therapists before you decide. I am always happy to refer. Sessions cost £48 for 60minutes and £50 after 6pm for an individual or £72 for a couple for 90 minutes or £75 after 6pm.

Skype Therapy

I am able to offer clients that have had a minimum of four sessions with me at The Hale Village Therapy Centre the option to continue therapy via Skype video link. This can be as an alternative or additional to face to face sessions at The Centre, or to be used when you cannot get to The Centre due to work or holiday commitments.
